During our Art topic this half term the children have been looking at Beatriz Milhazes work. We were inspired by some of her pieces and decided to make our own using different skills we have learnt during this unit.
During maths lessons this week with have been looking at rounding to the nearest 100 and 1000. We struggled slightly with rounding to the nearest 100 so during Fridays lesson we played lots of games to make sure we were secure before moving on to the next lesson.
During art lessons, we used tone to create a 3D apple. We looked at areas of light and dark on the apple and experimented shading with different tones.
This half term year 4 has studied the artist Beatriz Milhaes. Beatriz is inspired by music and dance and creates colourful prints. .

Yesterday, Year 4 took part in an exciting and educational workshop all about the Romans, delivered by Touchstones. We discovered fascinating facts about Roman life, explored real Roman artefacts, tried on authentic-style Roman armour, and even created our own Vexillas (Roman flags).
The children have made a fantastic start to Year 4! I’ve been incredibly impressed by their excellent behaviour and lovely manners. They’ve taken part in a variety of team-building activities and have already shown just how well they can work together. What a brilliant beginning to the year!
