Secret Reading

  Thank you so much to this morning’s secret reader…. Leah’s Mum! Leah’s mum chose ‘Little Lost Penguin’, she told us that she had chosen this story because it was one of her favourites and that she had been reading the story to Leah since she was a baby. The children really enjoyed the story and gave it a big thumbs up, we really love penguins in Snowdrops!  

Stickman activities

  We have really enjoyed our story of the Stickman this week. Hour of code

Next week is hour of code week, however we are extremely busy next week with our nativities so we have completed it this week. As part of hour of code we looked at what algorithms are and when these are used. Next we played on ‘The grinch at Christmas.’  We had to set some algorithms to help deliver gifts for Christmas. Ash have had a fun but busy afternoon. We learnt why we make Christingles and what each part represents. Stick Man

This week we have been learning about Stick Man in Reception. We have enjoyed looking at the different seasons and retelling the story. We have loved learning the repetitive phrases! Reading Advent

This week, we have a different way to celebrate advent. We have 24 Christmas books wrapped up under the tree and every day in advent, one child will be able to open one. Willows have been learning all about Sir Francis Beaufort who made the wind speed scale for sailors.
