Hour of Code
This week is hour of code. We have been playing a Mind craft coding game. We looked at a PPT at the start of the lesson that the School’s digital leaders had created. This told us all about coding. We talked about algorithms and debugging. We had lots of fun!
Geography
The Water Cycle
Today we have been learning all about the Water Cycle. We went outside and worked with our talk partners to draw labeled diagrams of the Water Cycle. We were able to talk about evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection!

Manchester Art Gallery
Year 5 had an amazing day out at Manchester Art Gallery today. We are extremely lucky to have been chosen to take part in this project. Today was one of the workshop days, which build up to a performance at the Bridgewater Hall. 📖 Cross-class outdoor reading surprise 📖
This week, Year 3 Birch’s elf on the shelf left a note telling them to meet him in Kayden’s garden at 2pm and to take Year 5 with them. When we arrived, we saw lots of elves with messages for us. Mountains of the World
Today we looked at different Mountains around the world. We talked about which continent you would find them in, the mountain group or range they were part of, the country you would find them in and a fun fact. Did you know that every year, around 1000 people try to climb Mount Everest and about half of them reach the summit!

Mountain Making
Maple have been busy designing and making their own mountain ranges. Excellent teamwork and a super effort to produce some amazing work. Ask the children at home if they know some of the mountain ranges of the world and which continents they are in!

Time
This week in Reception, we have been learning about time. We have discussed what time means and why it is important. A girl called Elsa told us a story about how she is always late. Secret Reader
This morning we were very excited to see Cobie’s mum arrive in the classroom to read us a story. She brought with her one of her favourite stories, ‘Dinosaur’s love underpants’. We all found it very funny and enjoyed listening to the story. Thank you very much for coming! We look forward to seeing who are secret reader will be next week.

Secret Reading
Thank you so much to this morning’s secret reader…. Leah’s Mum! Leah’s mum chose ‘Little Lost Penguin’, she told us that she had chosen this story because it was one of her favourites and that she had been reading the story to Leah since she was a baby. The children really enjoyed the story and gave it a big thumbs up, we really love penguins in Snowdrops!
