Shared Learning and Lunch

Year 4 Hawthorn loved having their Parents, Grandparents and Godparents join our English lessons today! We were given some boring sentences to edit and improve. We added fronted adverbials, adverbs, adjectives, similes and interesting verbs. The sentences created were very impressive. We finished the morning with a shared lunch.  

Allah in nature

In R.E, we have been studying how different people see God. We learnt that Muslims can see their God through nature and all its wonder. We went on a nature walk and created worship plates to show respect to nature. Here are some pictures of our lesson.

Shahada plates

Year 3 have been learning about how different faiths view and celebrate their God. As part of this, we have been looking at the Muslim faith. Today we discussed Shahada and looked at how it is displayed on things such as wall hangings, plates and pendants in Arabic calligraphy. Using our senses

This week we have been reading the story ‘Room on the Broom’ by Julia Donaldson. River Roch Visit

Maple have been down to the River Roch in Queens Park this morning. The children were amazing at spotting meanders and signs of erosion, transportation and deposition – ask them what it means if you’re not sure! They were quick to spot signs of pollution and notice wildlife that had made its home around the river bank. Coding in Year 5

This afternoon, Year 5 worked hard to complete a coding challenge. We discussed what an algorithm is and created our own on 2code. We used our coding skills to design a under the sea scene and create moving parts.

M6 Theatre Superhero Day

A fantastic day out today with Maple at the M6 Theatre Company. As part of our Linking Schools Project, the children met with a Year 4 class from another primary school.
