BODMAS

This week, we have begun to look at order of operations and using brackets.

We explored BODMAS and how there is a strict order we must follow. We also looked at how we could use brackets to change the outcome of a calculation in which the numbers and symbols remain the same.

We were set a challenge to use the numbers 12, 8, 3 and 4 to create calculations with 25 set answers. Year 6 managed 18 out of 25 in 15 minutes.

We then played connect 3: we had to roll 3 numbers and and use them in a calculation to generate answers. We marked our answers on a 100 grid and had to try and connect three answers to beat our partner.
