This week, some of our children became kitchen chemists as they took part in the exciting “Orange Fizz” experiment at home. Using just an orange and a little baking soda, the children explored how acids and bases react to create fizzy carbon dioxide bubbles. The experiment sparked lots of curiosity and discussion, with the children enjoying the surprising fizzing sensation and learning about simple chemical reactions in a fun, hands-on way. It was wonderful to see families engaging with Science together and encouraging children to ask questions, make predictions, and think scientifically beyond the classroom. Activities like this help to develop enthusiasm for Science while showing that scientific learning can happen anywhere.
