In science, year 6 have been actively exploring the circulatory system. They created a model to better understand how the system works and the various organs that make it up, including the heart and its vital role. As part of this project, they also designed their own version of blood, focusing on the different components such as white blood cells, red blood cells, and plasma. In addition, they’ve been learning about the specific functions of each organ within the circulatory system. To deepen their understanding, year 6 have conducted experiments to analyse data and explore the relationship between exercise and heart rate. This hands-on approach has allowed them to gain a more comprehensive understanding of how the circulatory system supports the body’s overall function.
