As our WW2 topic drew to a close, the children celebrated the end of the war in style.

After looking at some of the most important and influential speeches in history, from the likes of Sir Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King, Year 6 wrote their own VE speeches and letters to invite the whole street to their party.

We looked at techniques of how to effectively write and deliver a speech, choosing the style of the iconinc figure which we found most inspiring. An afternoon of music from the 1940s, sandwiches, cakes and flags and bunting making ended a hugely popular topic.
