This half term in DT, we have been learning about wheels, axles and axle holders.

We found out what the words meant, and how each part works. We learned that for wheels to turn, they had to be attached to an axle, then the axle had to sit in an axle holder, and the axle holder attached to the chassis (the body)

We became mechanics and had to inspect some vehicles to say why the wheels wouldn’t turn – some of the wheels were triangles, so they definitely wouldn’t work!

At the end of the half term we got to make our own cars, we made sure we had each of the parts we had been discussing and that the wheels turned… we did an amazing job!
