As this year has been a difficult one for so many, St Luke’s have been finding different ways to spread kindness this Christmas.
The children have been creating messages and drawings to post to people to make them smile. The children will/ have posted these to someone they know who may be isolated, lonely or may need cheering up. This is part of the Heywood in action community project ‘Heywood with a heart’.
Each class has also wrote acts of kindness advent promises, such as complimenting someone, helping to tidy up, smiling at people, telling family you love them etc. Each day, one of the promises is chosen, read out to the class for them to complete, and then hung from the class Christmas tree.
The children have also created Christmas cards which will be sent out to old people’s homes in Heywood. We know there are many older people who may be feeling lonely/ isolated at this time and so we hope this may make them smile.
The children have also worked really hard on the nativity scene displayed in the windows and hope this makes people smile as they drive or walk past.
