Art week – Georgia O’Keefe

This week has been Art week at St Luke’s. Year 3 have been learning about the Artist Georgia O’Keefe and looking at her style and techniques to create a piece of Art in the same style.    At the beginning of the week the classroom was set up with numerous pieces of Art by the artist, which the children viewed like an art gallery discussing the work with others they met on the way round. From this we discussed the work before creating our own mood boards. We then step by step created a piece of art of a flower using techniques from the artist including blending with various colours and tones. Finally, we peer assessed a friend’s painting against the techniques used by the artist.
