Year 3 Birch – social reading

We had lots of fun collecting ideas and patterns from the Ancient Greek pottery we have researched. We put these ideas onto a mood board in our art books, thinking about colour patterns and mythical creatures. They look really effective!
The children always enjoy our ukulele sessions! They have been learning simple chords to SpongeBob SquarePants theme tune, three little birds by Bob Marley and Get Back by the Beetles.
We loved preparing our planter for the vegetable plugs. We planted carrots, beetroot, leeks and sprouts!
The team did so well at Netball last night. We are extremely proud of how hard they worked. Well done, girls!
Our trip to Manchester Museum was FANTASTIC! We absolutely loved looking round the museum and making our own exhibition in our workshop. The lady was brilliant and kept us all engaged with the taxidermy animals and made sure we were treating them with respect.
Children enjoyed playing “Guess Who” with the database pictures they collated. We then used a program where they could create their own branching database, based around their interests. They did really well with this and could think about appropriate questions to create the database.
Children used our display to figure out where each Roman numeral should go on our clock, ready to use them on Monday in our “Time” topic.
We used the laptops to create code for our micro:bit. We had loads of fun creating our initials, patterns and noises to flash up on the micro:bit.
Year 3 visited St.Luke’s Church to take part in a Easter and Pentecostal experience. The children listened to the Easter story and then moved around the church in groups to take part in different activities- each activity looked deeper into the journey of Easter Sunday when Jesus rose again and Read more…
