Today in our P.E. lesson Year 5 have been practicing to develop and master their throwing and catching skills to play cricket. Children thoroughly enjoyed being taught new cricket skills and techniques by Hunter from Heywood Cricket Club. This week in our maths lessons we are learning how to find half of a number and half of a shape. Today we used cubes to help us find half of an amount. We made sure we shared the cubes equally into 2 groups.
This morning we’ve been to the Golden mosque in Rochdale. We had a fantastic day and have learnt lots of information about the Islamic religion. The children were really well behaved and really enjoyed looking around the mosque.
Reception have loved celebrating the coronation today. We have all been wearing red, white and blue, we have been making our own crowns, playing games and we even had a picnic together. It was lots of fun!
In gardening club over the last 2 weeks, we have had lots of fun making caterpillar grass heads and creating watercolour paintings. We have planted plugs into our planters and we hope to see some growth soon.
We loved our Coronation picnic. We ate in our classrooms and had a lovely time. We made crowns, biscuits and got to take home a lovely Coronation mug!
To celebrate the King’s coronation this weekend, Year 2 designed and made our own commemorative plates. We followed a tutorial on how to draw King Charles, then added our own designs.
Birch have been busy celebrating the Coronation today. We have had lots of fun learning about different Monarchs and their reigns. We have made crowns and a beautiful class collage to show our support to the new King.
Juniper have had a fun day filled with facts about Charles and his Coronation. We linked our Maths to previous monarchs and how long their reigns were, our English to writing relative clauses about the Royal family, our Art to creating a collage of Charles’ head and our Computing to creating an animation which was ‘royal’ themed. We took selfies with royal props and had a coronation picnic.
