Easter Egg Decorating Competition

Well done to everyone who entered the St Luke’s egg decorating competition! All the entries were egg-cellent!! Today the School council children judged the competition, voting for one winner from each class. Pronouns

This morning Maple have been learning about pronouns. We worked hard to identify pronouns within our own writing. Applying our understanding of nouns, we replaced nouns identified within our work, with pronouns. As part of our extension work we investigated personal. possessive and relative pronouns. Playing a sorting game, we identified each type and explained to others in our group why they were in a particular column.

Decimals, percentages and fractions

This week, Year 5 have been revisiting and revising their knowledge of factions, decimals and percentages. To do this, they have taken part in a variety of fun tasks and challenges including code breakers, board games, reasoning loop questions and making/ using fortune tellers. We had lots of fun with the games and were also able to practise our reasoning skills when helping others.

Learning about Italy

This week we have been learning about Italy. We found out about Italian food and drink, landmarks, facts about the country and we even spoke some Italian!
