On Friday afternoon, Anna Lucas came in to our school to read us her new book: “Sir Undercracker”. We all really enjoyed her reading us her story and we found it very funny! She taught us lots of new words and we were all able to act them out. Thank you Anna for coming to see us and introducing us to Sir Undercracker!
Over the last few weeks we have been very lucky to have Erik Hultgren in teaching Lacrosse in our P.E lessons. We have thoroughly enjoyed these lessons and have learnt many new skills besides teaming up to play matches. We went outside to observe the building work for the new classrooms. We enjoyed looking at the different vehicles and watched them dig up the ground. We discussed what might happen in the next few weeks on the building site. Reception are excited to see field change into the new classrooms.
We had two visitors in our classroom to lead our dinosaur school lesson, Dina the headteacher and Wally. We looked at our class rules and talked about taking turns. We rolled the ball around the circle and had to wait for our turn. We shared something with the class and then passed it on to another child. Year 5 have been putting our cooking skills to use to make vegetable soup. Here are some pictures of what we did.
We watched a really funny video about the different parts of a plant and what the different functions are. We then labelled the different parts of a flower and explained what the roots, stem and leaves are for. After this we then looked closely at a plant:
Year 5 would like to say a massive thank you to Mr McDowell for allowing us to visit his allotment. Enclosed is some pictures of year 5s great afternoon out.
On Stephen Lawrence Day we learnt about how our differences make us special. We learnt what the term descrimination meant and how we can be aware how our behaviours can effect others. We created jigsaw pieces including special things about ourselves showing no matter what our differences ‘we all fit together’. ❤️🌏
