As part of our research into Darwin and his Theory of Evolution, Year 6 investigated what fossils are, where they are found, how they are formed and what types of fossils there are. Topic fun

We have worked really hard this week so on Thursday afternoon we had lots of fun with flowers. We made some gift tags for some lavender bags, drew pictures of flowers on purple mash, wrote acrostic poems, watched a video on how to draw a flower and we completed an ‘all about me’ flower as well.

Macbeth Drama

Year 4 have been working hard in English, writing Macbeth’s diary recount. To help us plan our work, we enjoyed acting out the scenes after King Duncan’s death in class today. We have some amazing actors and actresses!

I have a dream!

This week the children have combined together, their knowledge of Martin Luther King from our topic heroes and villains, our knowledge of the environment from ECO week, ideas discussed in PSHE on Stephen Lawrence day and our English skills, to write our own “I have a dream” poems. The children have produced such lovely pieces of writing that some will be displayed on our wall along with our drawings of Martin Luther King.

Helping Peter Pan create a new shadow

This week we have linked our current English book to our science work to begin investigating how we can find Peter Pan a new shadow. We learnt about transparent, translucent and opaque materials and what happens to light as it travels towards the material.
