In Bluebells, we have been improving our Super Strength power in PE. We all needed to be prepared in case the evil pea returns, so we have been working hard with our exercises. After our warm up, we practised moving in different ways (in case we needed to sneak out of a sticky situation). We also practised our balancing skills and looked at how we can use different parts of our body to help us Read more
After learning all term about electricity and reading our class book ‘The Iron Man’. We worked together as a class to create a robot – ‘The Iron Cat’. It was tricky to find all the pieces of Lego to make the robot but we were determined to complete it and follow all 176 instructions to complete our robot.
An interesting, informative and important visit from Heywood Fire Station to help us to learn how to stay safe near water as the weather starts to improve (hopefully). Well done to the children and Miss Smith for getting involved trying on the equipment and also asking some very mature questions during the visit.
We really enjoyed our shared learning experience. We played ‘Guess Who’ in French then sketched each other and labelled it with French vocabulary. Some of us even used a French Dictionary to find words to describe each others personality. Merci Beacoup, for all the parents, grandparents and carers who joined us, we loved having you with us in the classroom!
This half term, Year 6 have been writing ghost stories. To help imagine what it would be like for characters in different settings, we’ve been immersing ourselves in a range of settings such as graveyards, haunted mansions, basements and attics. The children have really enjoyed the added competition as we look at the league tables to see our improvements, but also where we rank in class and in the school. Read more
We had a lovely shared lunch today we our parents. Thank you for joining us, we hope you enjoyed it too!
Music in Oaks We have been learning all about different musical instruments in Oaks this half term. We have been looking at different artists such as Take That and we have been watching some very talented orchestra’s on YouTube to see the variety of instruments that are out there. Please take a look at our magnificent children who have all made musical instruments at home.
Bluebells had a big surprise today when they came in from dinner. Someone had been in our classroom and look what they had done… We asked everybody we know who could have done this, but no one knew. Someone had come into our classroom and held all of the vegetables hostage! We all worked together to free the vegetables that had been held hostage and Miss Longmire is going to take them all back to Read more
