Safer Internet winners

Well done to everyone who entered the poster competition for ‘Safer internet day’. The Digital leaders had a really tough job picking a winner. A huge congratulations to our two winners who each won £10 Amazon vouchers and their posters will be displayed in school:

Random Acts of Kindness

This afternoon, Year 5 Juniper went on a walk to the local park to litter pick for their random act of kindness. The children managed to fill lots of bin liners with litter than had been left behind to help clear our local area. They then celebrated their hard work with a little play on the park! Well done to you all, you did great!

PE-Gymnastics

This half-term Year 2 are learning gymnastics. We watched a video of the famous gymnast ‘Simone Biles’ and how she achieved her fantastic careers. We recognised that she had to be extremely hard-working and resilient to achieve what she has. We then showed our resilience in our PE lesson and learnt lots of new gymnastic skills.

Art-Clay

We have been practising using clay this half term and have made a clay pinch pot and this week a clay tile. We created three different designs then picked our favourite to make using clay. We used different techniques like  score and slip to create our designs. We have also been studying the work of artist Rachel Whiteread and how she creates her sculptures using different materials like plaster, resin and concrete.

Superheroes being kind

This week reception enjoyed a superhero day. The children dressed up as superheroes and real life superheroes. We had vets, doctors, teachers, nurses and lots more. We talked about how all superheroes are kind. Then on random acts of kindness day, the children decorated biscuits to give to a friend. We have two classes full of kind superheroes!

We had some lovely emails back from the neighbours, telling us how their kindness put a smile on their faces after a busy day at work. Well done Year 1 and thank you to our older school council members for delivering them Read more
