This week the children took part in a special festive activity: making their own Christingles. The children explored the different materials, bright oranges, red ribbons, sweets, and candles, and talked about what each part represented.
The children showed great fine-motor skills as they pushed the cocktail sticks into the oranges and carefully placed the sweets on top. Many worked together, offering help to friends and proudly sharing their finished Christingles with the group.
During group time, we discussed how the Christingle is a symbol of light, love, and the world around us. The children listened thoughtfully and shared their own ideas about what light means to them, such as “helping people” and “being kind”.
