Year 6 are starting a new topic all about Industrial Revolution. Today, we had a visitor from Rochdale Pioneer Museum (Cat), who delivered a workshop all about our new topic. The children were fully immersed in Rochdale during the Industrial Revolution. They focused on working conditions, food and living conditions. Some children acted as the Schofield family (Frank, Gertrude, Francis and Tommy) who lived and worked on a farm in the middle of Rochdale. The children had many opportunities to play games and look at the toilet situation during this era, they played a game where they had to transport the weee from the toilet to the horse and cart (some children spilt the wee). They’ve had a super informative session and are really looking forward to learning more about the Industrial Revolution.
