In DT we are going to be designing and making a healthy smoothie. Over the last 2 weeks we have learnt lots about fruits and vegetables, how we know a food is a fruit and where fruits and vegetables grow. This week we focussed on preparation skills. We learnt how to hold a knife and fork and cut foods of different textures and how to juice lemons and oranges.
We also practised our skills by cutting dough into equal sized pieces using knives and chopping boards.
At the end we tasted some of the fruit and veg we had cut and tasted the juice – most of us thought the orange juice was delicious, but the lemon was VERY sour!
