As part of our topic ‘The Great Fire of London’ the children have been learning about fire safety and why The Great Fire of London spread so quickly.
This week we had some special visitors come to school to help us with our learning. Some came into our classroom to teach us more about fire safety and to answer questions we had, others gave us a tour of the fire engine. We were able to sit in the fire engine, spray the hose and look at all the equipment and protective clothing they have. As we found out more about the equipment they use, we were able to make comparisons to what was available in 1666, and why this was another factor that contributed to The Great Fire of London spreading.
