First week for Year 1 Oaks

Year 1 Oaks have made a fabulous start to the new school year and have settled into their new class well. We are really proud of how the children have come in showing green behaviour and starting their year one learning journeys.
We have discussed the classroom rules, created self-portraits, sorted objects in maths and thought about how we structure a sentence in English. We have also wrote some beautiful prayers to put in our reflection area.
As well as all this, children have been learning in our areas during COOL Time (Choose Our Own Learning). During this time, some children used blocks to build Blackpool, sorted the gems into groups, wrote letters home to parents, made bracelets, played teachers and separated mixtures outside.
A very busy week but we have all had lots of fun!
