We had a great day celebrating European Day of languages!

We all dressed in Red, White and Blue to represent the colours of the French flag, ate French croissants, learnt new phrases from many different European Languages, learnt a traditional French dance in the French Dance workshop and also discussed why learning a language and learning about other cultures is important. We also discussed what job roles and opportunities that learning a different language can bring such as making new friends, enabling you to live and work in a different country, travelling and studying abroad and creating a greater understanding of different cultures.

Some children from Maple spoke about what they enjoyed –
‘ I loved the French dance Workshop’

‘I enjoyed learning how many different European Languages there are!’

‘I like the music and learning new dance moves’

‘ I liked playing the quiz and learning new facts.’
