We have had a fun week this week learning about healthy eating and what foods are good for building up our super hero powers!

We were tasked with making a superhero smoothie that would be healthy, make our powers stronger and would taste nice all at the same time.

At the beginning of the week we tried some different smoothies to test out what fruits and flavours went well together. We then voted for our favourite by completing a bar chart. We enjoyed all of them but the strawberry and banana one was voted the most popular.

We then completed a shopping list to write down some of the fruits that we might like to include in our super smoothies, we are getting so good at sounding out and writing our words!

That afternoon we tasted some fruits that Miss Horrocks thought we might not have tried before, we had; kiwi, mango, pomegranate, passion fruit and lychees… we also tried some avocado as requested by some of the children!

We voted using thumbs up or thumbs down to show whether we liked them or not, some tasted a bit funny but we were very brave and tried them all!

 

And then today we made some smoothies using fruits, water and juice in a blender, we tried 3 different ones again but the fruit was frozen so it made the smoothie more exciting! Some of the smoothies had some fruits we had tried the previous day and we voted with our thumbs again, it was lots of fun!
