We have been learning about sacred books in our new topic for RE. In this lesson we learnt about the story of ‘the lost coin’, we discussed that it was a special type of story called a parable and Jesus told parables to help people learn something or understand ideas. They might seem to be saying one thing, but they are really teaching about something else. We then made hidden meaning boxes that shown the literal story of ‘the lost coin’ on the outside, but the hidden meaning was written on a piece of paper inside, ready to be found by anyone who opens it.
