Jack and the beanstalk

What a busy week!!

This week we have been reading the story of Jack and the beanstalk, we have decided to do an experiment where we grow 2 beanstalks, one in a pot with soil and one in a bag with just a wet cotton wool ball, we then voted to see which we thought would grow the tallest beanstalk and made a bar chart to show our answers.

We did each step of planting the beanstalk ourselves and then wrote the process during our writing task, we then coloured in a castle, put it on a stick and stuck some clouds on for the beanstalk to grow up to.

This afternoon, we acted out the story of Jack and the beanstalk and had so much fun, Miss Horrocks decided we should make up our own stories and then we could act them out with our friends for the rest of the class. We told Miss Horrocks and Miss King our story, they wrote it down for us and then we all sat in a circle and took turns to act out the stories, it was very funny!
