Today Year 6 took a trip to Queen’s Park to carry out fieldwork linked to our DT topic – playgrounds. The children ‘investigated the location and usage of a local playground’. We looked at where the playground is situated within the park grounds? Is it easy to access? Who is the park aimed for and what equipment in available?
This activity required the children to think more deeply about the provision and location of such amenities and recognise that these are part of their local area and serve people who live there.
They children worked really hard and are excited to put this fieldwork into practice when making their own playground structure this week in DT.
