In class today, Year 5 Juniper took part in the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe assembly and workshop. We were able to discuss the different types of abuse, know that it is never the child’s fault, understand that we have the right to be kept safe, and who to speak to if we need help. We familiarised ourselves with Buddy who is the NSPCC’s green speech bubble mascot, were able to work in partners and small groups to discuss feelings and things to do if we need help. We spoke about what safety is, how being safe makes us feel and who the people are in our lives are that keep us safe and make us feel safe. We then looked at the Childline website and were able to discover all of the ways the website can help us if we are in need. The children really enjoyed the workshop and contributed really well in our discussions. Well done Juniper!
