Queen’s Park Forces

As part of our mighty metals topic we have been learning about forces. We went to Queen’s Park to look at what forces were present in the playground. We then drew and labelled forces and contact or non-contact force on the equipment.

We then focussed on the force friction by conducting an experiment to find out ‘Which material would make the best mat for a heater skelter ride.’ We did this by timing various materials going down a slide. We worked in teams to make our own choices in planning our experiment using post-it note planning.
