Year 5 have been learning all about Islam and what in means to be a Muslim in Britain today. This week we had a special visitor who is a devoted practising Muslim. She spoke to the children about the religious month of Ramadan and celebrating the Festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr. Year 5 really enjoyed listening and were very keen to ask interesting questions which deepened their understanding about the Islamic faith. Well done year 5 for showing the visitor our school christian values of patience and respect during the visit. Children were also offered the opportunity to taste dates, which is a common food that is used by Muslims to break fasts during Ramadan.
