This week, St Luke’s are celebrating Random acts of Kindness day. As part of the activities, we decided to spread kindness to our linked care-home Springbank. Some children from KS2, selected for excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning this half-term, attended the care-home to have ‘a cake and a chat’ afternoon with the residents.
The children were absolutely amazing. They showed such kindness to residents when serving them cake, chatting with them and getting them involved in some activities. The staff from Springbank informed us of how much of an impact the children are having on the residents and it was so lovely to see everyone smiling, and listen to the children supporting the residents with the activities. The staff even commented on one particular resident who usually refuses to get involved with any activities or interact with others, who smiled and interacted with a number of our children.
Well done children! We are all really proud of you! 😊
