In our science lesson today, Year 5 have been exploring with components of electrical circuits to learn about the flow of electricity and how it compares with static electricity. Children were able to identify the different components of electrical circuits and discover the conditions for electricity to flow which makes the components work. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the practical activity in which children made lightbulbs light up, buzzers make sounds and made motors’ spin. Children also discovered the function of a ‘switch’ which creates a gap in the circuit causing the components to stop working. Well done Year 5 for working so sensibly with all the science equipment.
