Setting the butterflies free
This week we have set our butterflies free! We watched them grow from caterpillars to cocoons and then into butterflies. The children each took a turn to hold a butterfly before setting it free in Kayden’s Garden.

We have had a very exciting day today in Bluebells. We have released our butterflies! We have been carefully observing the butterflies each day to check when their wings are strong enough to be released outside. We now have 30 butterflies flying and having fun in Kayden’s garden…
This half term, we have been learning life cycles. In school we have butterflies and frogs that we have been observing. The butterflies started off as a caterpillar and we had to look after them and give them lots of food. When they got big they went into a cocoon. Read more
Year 4 had a fantastic time today on their school trip. They went to Deva Musuem to learn how to become a Roman legionarie and then travelled back in time to live the life of a Roman in the barracks. Here are some clips of our amazing adventure.
Albert has been busy all weekend, learning lots of different french phrases. Make sure to ask Albert some french questions when he gets back to school.
Albert (our school’s bear) has jetted off to sunny Carcassonne. He has taken Miss Fisher and Miss Robinson with him to help them learn French. Keep posted for more updates and pictures of Albert’s adventure.
We have been busy in Kayden’s garden planting lots of fruit and vegetables as part of our science topic. We cannot wait to watch them grow and try them.
This morning we have had a very special visitor in Buttercups, Charlie chocolate chick (named by the class)! We made sure we were quiet and gentle as we each had a turn holding or stroking the chick.
This half term we are learning about Greece, we used Google Earth to locate Greece and explore some of Greece’s Ancient landmarks! We have still got lots to learn!
