Year 6 have been exploring the topic ‘heat’ in science. We have discussed key vocabulary linked to our topic and managed to understand thermal equilibrium (when heat is spread evenly between 2 or more objects).
The class experienced the feeling of their hands changing from hot to cold to warm water and had to discuss how it felt.
We then observed a ice in metal and an ice cube in a cup placed in boiling water. The children discussed ways in which thermal equilibrium can be reached more quickly.
Well done year 6.
