Merry Grinchmas

Geography – Fieldwork

This afternoon, both year 6 classes went to Queen’s Park to carry out fieldwork linked with our Geography topic – fieldwork. The children used their knowledge of conducting fieldwork and field sketches to carry out a sketch of our local area. A visit from the Grinch!

This morning Year 5 were rudely interrupted during our English lesson. The grinch came in whilst we were planning our persuasive letters. He ruined our Christmas tree, stole our decorations and ignored the children when they tried to persuade him to love Christmas. This has given us more of a reason to write our persuasive letters. The children went on to add lots of persuasive techniques to their plans.

Afterschool Circus Club

This half-term, 20 Year 2 and 3 children took part in an afterschool club to learn circus skills. We learnt how to juggle with scarves, do tricks with flower sticks, balance feathers on different body parts, how to spin plates and do various tricks with them and much more. Angels at Christmas

Shape Hunt

This week in Maths we have been learning about shapes. We have been using shapes in different ways to investigate their properties. We have then been on a shape hunt to find different shapes in the environment. Everyone has enjoyed learning about 2D and 3D shapes.

Year 3 looked at what makes The Holy Bible so special and how it is divided up into different chapters, verses, books and arranged into two testaments.
