Today we learnt about craters and how they are formed and about different types of craters. We focussed on craters created by meteorites and about why the moon appears to have so many craters compared to Earth. Our moon research
This afternoon, Year 5 Pine discussed our moon. We addressed misconceptions about the moon that are widely believed. We then went outdoors on a fact-finding mission and traded facts with each other. When we came back into class, we had learnt lots about the moon. We used this information to create an informative poster. Maths challenge
This afternoon, we decided to get out of the classroom and into the fresh air to do some problem solving revision on what we have learnt so far in year 5. We worked in pairs to solve a number of multi-step addition, subtraction, number and place value problems. Linking schools project
Maple are excited to be taking part in the Linking Schools project, this year will be a little different but it will be just as fun! Anti-bullying Week/ Odd socks day 2020
This week is anti- bullying week. Throughout the week, classes have had an anti-bullying assembly, discussed this year’s theme ‘United against bullying’ and taken part in activities and discussions about bullying. Today we came to school wearing odd socks to celebrate our differences.

Changing Landscapes
Do you know where a river starts and finishes? Maple have been learning about the ‘source’ and ‘mouth’ of a river.
