🌎 📚 World Book Day 📚 🌎

Thank you to everyone in Birch who came dressed up for World Book Day today. You all looked fabulous. We could tell this class are big Harry Potter fans. Special well done to Molly who won best costume for looking beautiful as Poppy from Trolls.

World Book Day

We have had lots of fun today celebrating World Book Day! We started the day with a fantastic secret reader and then we spent the rest of the day writing our own stories and acting them out   We had some fantastic World Book Day costumes in Snowdrops!  

Willows World Book Day 2020

We had a whale of a time during our World Book Day. Look at all the fabulous outfits that the children came in! We had amazing superheroes, Peter Rabbit characters, fairy tale princess’ and many more. All the adults came as crayons from ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’. Well done for everyone’s efforts today to celebrate our favourite books.

Alien snot… eurgh!

We kicked off our Moon Zoom topic this half term with a visit from some very messy aliens! They left behind some green gooey alien snot. BLEURGH! We all had a look at it and had to clean up their mess. It was fascinating to see and we were all very excited about our mysterious visitors.   Maybe Mrs Nuttall might let Willows make their own alien snot sometime soon…  

World Book Day

What a fantastic World Book Day! There were some amazing costumes – well done Maple! The children have written some excellent character descriptions based on ‘The Big Friendly Giant’ and we had a wonderful time during assembly looking at all the other classes costumes.  

Hallé at the Bridgewater Hall

What an amazing morning Year 5 have had! We have been working hard over the last few weeks to prepare for today. We arrived at the Bridgewater Hall and went through the artist’s entrance to get ready backstage. Online safety- challenge 3

Our challenge this half term was focused on ‘Safer Internet day’. Over the passed few weeks we have been meeting to prepare for a KS1 and a KS2 assembly where we talked about the importance of online safety.   In addition to this each class had a new class book based on safer Internet. The digital leaders went to read Troll stinks to both reception classes and Chicken clickin to Year 1.

Thank you to all the family members that joined Birch for their shared learning and lunch this week. The children had so much fun telling and showing you what we have been learning about in topic this half term. They especially loved you getting messy building volcanoes with them.
