This morning Year 1 completed a grammar lesson on questions. Year 5 Pine Trash-ion show

Today was the final lesson of our sculpture and 3d interactive installation unit. We have built on our previous lessons and designs to bring our art work and ideas to life. We learnt about the career and skills of a fashion designer, and for our final piece, the children worked in groups to create fashion using recycled materials. The theme of the installations was saying no to fast fashion, recycling more and using less waste. Read more

Shared learning and lunch

A big thank you to all of the parents and guardians who joined us for today’s shared learning and lunch. Year 5 Pine had a brilliant morning teaching their adults all about the brilliant work we have been doing in Geography this half term. The children worked hard, along with their adults, to create amazing travel brochures detailing lots of information about their favourite biomes. 

Tens and ones

Year 1, have been learning about ‘teen’ numbers. To help us understand, we have been using tens frames to learn about ‘tens’ and ‘ones’. The children worked really hard during their practical lesson and have shown great understanding.

Game Creator

Over the last few weeks, Year 5 have been working on creating their own games in computing and today became game designers! They have been able to create mazes with golden coins to collect, all whilst avoiding the monsters that will make them lose lives! Planning a ghost story

Year 6 have begun to plan and write their own ghost stories. We created our own narrative map to plan each paragraph and decided which fantastics lenses would create the best sentences for each paragraph.

Staying Safe Online

We were joined by the Sunrise team today, who worked with Year 6 to look at the dangers posed by being online, either through social media or even social gaming platforms. We were able to investigate and discuss issues around the topic and the children gave really intelligent and thoughtful ideas.

Lunar New Year

This week we have been learning about Lunar new year celebrations. We have enjoyed reading stories and writing about the animals in the Great Race. We have also tried some Chinese foods. The children also enjoyed being creative and making some Chinese decorations. Outside, the children acted out the great race and practiced dragon dancing.
