Over the last few weeks, Year 6 have been working extremely hard in all topics. One area in particular that they have been focusing on, is their spellings. Energy!

This half term, in Science, Year 6 have been focusing on the topic Energy. We have been exploring what energy is, how it is stored and how it can be transferred from one store to another. The children have focused their learning on different equation to work out efficiency, power ratings and speed. Easter

This week we have read the Easter story and learnt all about Jesus during good Friday and Easter Sunday. We have done lots of different activities to celebrate Easter and also created our own palm leaves. Migration

This half term Maple have been learning all about Migration in Geography. We’ve learnt about why people migrate and how this affects people and places. We’ve investigated some of the push and pull factors that cause people to leave particular countries and the reasons for why they might stay in a particular country. Ukraine

This morning we have discussed why we are wearing yellow and blue today. We talked sensitively about the situation in Ukraine and how we should show love and kindness to others. The children then made Ukrainian flags and waved them in support.

Easter Egg Decorating Competition

Well done to everyone who entered the St Luke’s egg decorating competition! All the entries were egg-cellent!! Today the School council children judged the competition, voting for one winner from each class. This week, we have celebrated Easter and learnt about the Easter story and Palm Sunday. Yesterday we were very busy on an Easter hunt.
