This half-term, Year 5 have been learning how to blanket-stitch in Design and Technology. We then used this skill to create a cushion of our own design. Although it was tricky, the children persevered and produced some fabulous pieces. Well done!

This week we have read the Easter story and learnt all about Jesus during good Friday and Easter Sunday. We have done lots of different activities to celebrate Easter and also created our own palm leaves. This half term Maple have been learning all about Migration in Geography. We’ve learnt about why people migrate and how this affects people and places. We’ve investigated some of the push and pull factors that cause people to leave particular countries and the reasons for why they might stay in a particular country. This morning we have discussed why we are wearing yellow and blue today. We talked sensitively about the situation in Ukraine and how we should show love and kindness to others. The children then made Ukrainian flags and waved them in support.

Well done to everyone who entered the St Luke’s egg decorating competition! All the entries were egg-cellent!! Today the School council children judged the competition, voting for one winner from each class.
