Last week in Art, the children went on a ‘texture hunt’ around school. The children ventured around school with ipads and took pictures of many items that had a variety of textures. Once back in class, we looked at the photos we had taken and created a mind map of vocabulary that could describe the texture.

This week, Miss Lomax and Mrs Graham picked some of the best photographs, which each showed different textures, and we had to try to re-create it using paint and a variety of tools, such as cotton wool, strips of cardboard, ear buds and our fingers. We came up with some fantastic ways of using the objects1
