This week in Reception, we have been learning about different celebrations. When we were researching Diwali and Bonfire night we realised that they both set off fireworks as part of their celebrations. So we then decided to make our own fireworks in the outdoor area!
We started off by throwing powder paint on the floor and shouting the sounds that fireworks made. We had a ‘BOOOM’, ‘BAAAAANG’, ‘ZOOOOOM’ and ‘WHIZZZZZZ’.
Once our fireworks were all splattered over the floor we started to explore the different colours that we could make by mixing the paint together.
When we were finished we made sure that we cleaned up after ourselves. Our arm muscles got very tired sweeping the fireworks away but it was lots of fun!
