This week Year 5 have enjoyed getting back to Forest School. We recapped the rules and played some games to ensure we remembered them. We are linking our sessions to our PSHE lessons and thinking about Easter. We discussed what forgiveness is and why it is important. We also talked about how lent is a time for Christians to reflect on anything they may have done wrong and ask for forgiveness. We learnt about how people mark the start of lent in different countries. Some people make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, so we worked together to create a fire and then made pancakes. The children enjoyed adding tasty toppings and eating their pancakes. In France, there are street parades and they wear wear beautiful masks before lent starts, so some children chose to create masks using feathers and natural materials. Some children ended up with masks of mud! Other children chose to help tidy up our forest school area.
