Last week for Design and Technology we discussed our favourite food then we drew our favourite meal.  Afterwards we swapped our meals with a partner and they had to use the checklist to identify the food groups they included in their meal and any that they didn’t include.  We then worked with a partner and became restaurant owners.  Wearing our chef’s hats, we then created a menu with three meals trying to create meals that were tasty and balanced.

This week we have been practising preparing food by using different equipment. We spent a lot of time discussing how to use the equipment safely and then worked in small groups with an adult to practise using the different equipment. We used a grater, scissors, spoon and knife. We had to think of less obvious ways of preparing food as well like using a grater for a cucumber.
