This week in Literacy we have been learning all about India and have focused on the story ‘Festival Of Colours’. The children use the flowers they have to create powder colours and use it to throw during the Holi Festival. In writing we have been able to write down the colours they used and used Fred talking to help us. Miss Longmire brought in some flowers for us to create our own colours. We rolled and pressed the petals onto our tissue pieces and made our own flower pictures.
We used our very own powder paint to throw on the floor and used water to create our own patterns in the paint. Holi is a festival of fresh starts, friendship and forgiveness which is something we have in school. We have had lots of fun learning about a different country and learning all about the Holi festival.
