Maps 🗺

This week in Reception, we have been learning about the story ‘What the Ladybird Heard’. During the story two people draw a map to find their way to the cow. So, we have been learning about maps this week. We have been researching the different types of maps, why we would use a map and how to follow a map. It was very interesting!

We decided to make our own maps. We have been talking about where we live and the journey we take to get to school. Miss Longmire has shown us our houses on google maps and we have told our friends how we travel to school, following the route on google maps.

We have then been painting paper with tea bags. We are using tea bags to stain our paper for our maps!

When the paper had dried, we then carefully drew our map. We thought about where we live and the places we pass and see to get to school.
