Welcome back!!
This week as part of PSHE we have been discussing how the decisions we make can help or hurt our hearts. We linked this idea to our thought of the week ‘Believe you can and you’re halfway there’. The children talked about the importance of being kind to ourselves and those around us. We each went around the classroom and left a positive adjective to describe ourselves and our friends. Afterwards the children shared how it made them feel to read the positive message about themselves and how nice it was to have a positive impact on others. We linked this with our Art lesson this week by using the adjectives to help us create a poem portrait. The children used images of themselves to create a self portrait. They then went over this using tracing paper and the positive adjectives to create the portrait poems. Next week we will continue to develop the portraits by adding a background.
