This week we we had so much fun in forest school!

As we are learning about mini beasts and life cycles this term, we decided to link this with our forest school session.

We did so well at remembering all of the rules and explained why we need rules – to keep us safe!

To start the session off we went on a hunt to find something that was rough, something that was soft and something that was yellow, we then sat in our circle and described the object we had found.

Following this, we thought about what mini-beasts are and how we might find some in our forest, we discussed the different materials that mini-beasts might like and how each might like something different. We then made a house for a mini-beast, we had to think about what they might like in their home to make them comfortable…. some of us even managed to find minibeasts to go in our houses!

When we had finished, some of them were hung from trees or built next to trees but the ones we had made in pots were put under trees and bushes so that we can go and see if we have had any visitors next time!

To finish off, we toasted our marshmallows over the fire and discussed what we had enjoyed about forest school, it was so lovely to hear many of the children say they enjoyed everything!!
