This week in our maths we have been looking at spatial awareness using language such as in, on, up, down, under and behind. We explored spacial awareness using toys in our class and used a dolls house to explain which rooms we could see and how we knew. We got the chance to play the game snakes and ladders and we found out we could go up the ladder but had to go down the snakes. 🐍 At the end of the week we even got the chance to create our own treasure maps and had to see if we could follow our own instructions moving across, up and behind things in the outdoor area.
We used bricks to make models and explained what was on, behind and in front and we also followed a chalk maze on the floor.
Finally we noticed a treasure map in our classroom, we followed the instructions together and found some real treasure. Inside the silver paper were some biscuits for us all to enjoy 🍪
We really enjoyed finding our treasure and we hope we get some more soon.
