This week, Year 5 began their new Science topic ‘Electrical Circuits’. Our first lesson was all about static electricity. We learnt how static electricity is created, why we feel static shock, when we see evidence of static electricity and how thunder and lightning is created. To support our understanding, we experimented using balloons and went outside to use our own bodies to show how lightning and thunder are created.
